Patchwork Puzzle, Sweatshirt, 60 × 60 cm, 02/2019
This wallhanging is made out of an old sweater, I found on the ground in my neighborhood. When I planed to make a collage out of it, I wanted to sample the possibilities of the famous motive and turn it into something new, knowing that it will be recognicable, even if I would cut it into pieces. That reminded me of a game, which already existed in my childhood and still does. A puzzle cased in a frame which could be played over and over, by moving the squares back and forth, first destroying the motive, to than try to restore it. „Mkiey ouMse“ can be seen as a destruction of the consumer’s game of throwing clothes away and buying new stuff.
